Large Selection of Lake Lure and Western North Carolina Vacation Home Rentals IMPORTANT NOTICE! The Town of Lake Lure will be lowering the Lake by twelve feet beginning 1/4/21 until 1/31/21. The Lake will be lowered a foot per day. The purpose of lowering the Lake is for a Penstock inspection, dredging, sewer system assessment including a geotechnical investigation, and drone footage of the shoreline and Lakebed. The plan is to have the Lake back at full pond by 1/31/21.
Nestled at the foothills of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, the Lake Lure area offers remarkable beauty, a temperate climate, genuine hospitality, and a great place to vacation. National Geographic named the 720-acre lake, with its 22 miles of shoreline, one of the most beautiful man-made lakes in the country. This area caught the attention of Hollywood years ago and scenes from Dirty Dancing and Firestarterwere filmed here.
Our selection of rental homes is one of the largest in the area and spans four Western North Carolina Counties. Many are Lake Lure lakefront or are located minutes from the lake in the Town of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, and Mill Spring. They are also not far from Chimney Rock State Park where the final scenes of The Last of the Mohicans were filmed.
