We didnt need much, but my only question was answered immediately, communication was timely and always arrived when needed. The digital info packet was so helpful. The rental process was super easy (found and booked in under an hour), everything was precisely as promised and super easy, communication was great.
We loved it - access to the creek was so much fun. Our only negative was the driveway was very challenging, but that happens in mountain houses and we figured it out. The adult beds are also a little squeaky - not sure maybe the box sprig has a cover or something. But overall it was wonderful and exceeded expectations. Would definitely stay again. The description doesnt even do this place justice. We could have fit an entire extra family and still had room to spare. The basement for the kids was amazing - there were hours we didnt even see the kids. The location was superb and having access to the Riverbend amenities was such a nice surprise.

This was our first time using Carolina Properties and I was very impressed with everyone. Ashley and Valerie were amazing. I was apprehensive about renting this house because there were not any reviews yet and at the time, there were limited photos. Since it was a new listing, Ashley took the time to call me and spent about 30 minutes describing the property to me. She also went over the cleaning protocol that Carolina Properties uses. It was obvious that she knew the property well. She also answered several questions promptly over the next few weeks before our arrival. Valerie responded within 5 minutes to an email I sent Saturday morning while at the property regarding the river and safety questions I had. She gave some great suggestions and was very helpful. We will definitely use them again vs. booking through another travel site. We frequently visit Lake Lure and I was very impressed with communication.
We were hesitant to book the River House since it was a new listing, but our stay wound up being great. The River House is an awesome option for this area. We are used to staying on the opposite end of the lake but chose Riverbend bc of the privacy during Covid 19. We really enjoyed it. The pictures do not do the house justice. I hope they add more. There is a darling little room down in the basement with 2 sets of bunks called the "Bunkhouse." My 8yo girls thought this was the coolest thing ever. They had their own little cabin down there. There was a foosball table and a large sectional couch and a table to play games along with a full bathroom. Perfect for kids. My 13 yo son really enjoyed the loft room on the 3rd floor which had a half bath and a bed he could stretch out on, plus his own little couch. The 2 bedrooms on the mail level were fine for my husband and I to spread out all of our stuff, extra food and drinks, campfire supplies, etc...Beds were comfortable, bedding was clean. Only suggestion I would have for main bathroom is a new rug. The one in there easily got wet and was really thin. Not a huge deal. Just a suggestion. We easily found everything we needed in the kitchen. Only suggestion might be a larger couch or chairs in the main area. Was hard to curl up and watch tv together as a family of 5 and TV downstairs did not allow us access to netflix so we could not spread out there on the sectional couch. But again.....Just tiny things. We loved the deck and listening to the river in the mornings. The River....This was our only issue. The listing made it sound like we could hop in right there with tubes and go down the Broad River, but after chatting with Valerie, we realized that this was not an ideal place to get in. She suggested we go up to the lake/nature area in Riverbend and then float down to our property which we wound up doing and it worked great. The River was super high on Friday (and pretty dangerous for kids) due to rain, but by Saturday, some of the water had been released into the lake (common in Lake Lure) and it was actually perfect. Playing in the river was something my kids really wanted to do and it worked perfect during the rest of our trip. Don't miss the beach/lake/waterfall/nature trail area in Riverbend. It was so peaceful and my kids loved playing in the falls and floating in the lake/jumping off the dock. Only 2 things I would really note on the house. There are no pics of the hot tub. This was a big reason we chose that house. Ashley let me know in advance that it was small after I inquired, but if you really want your whole family to enjoy it together, just know it really only holds 3 people. My kids LOVED it though. Also, you can tell lots of work has recently been done to the house. It is such a cool "log cabin" experience. The stairs going down to the river look brand new and are very safe. That being said, if you have someone that has a disability or is older, it is STEEP coming back up. Quite the workout. So just be prepared. We loved the firepit area and did hot dogs and s'mores there. Don't forget to bring your flashlights down there. We did and when it got dark, it got dark fast and our fire had just gone out. It was comical trying to clean up down there in the dark with kids. The driveway is also pretty steep (I'd be nervous in winter months). Our mini-van had a hard time getting up it each day. We definitely need some different tires. If you have more of an SUV vehicle, you will be fine. We also loved that our tiny little dog could join us. He had a blast too. We loved this house. Will definitely be back.
