4 Lucky Ducks is a super nice, family-friendly lakefront log home on Mirror Lake! Cozy cabin with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, stone gas log fireplace, hot tub, outdoor shower and more.  Comfortable seating in the living room and functional kitchen with nice stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops, and hickory cabinets. Dining table is at bar height and seats 8 with additional seating for 3 at the breakfast bar. Down the hall there is a half bath, a bedroom with queen bed, television, and a spacious bathroom with a double vanity.

From the living room ascend the stairs to the loft where you will find unique foosball / coffee table that is fun yet tasteful. The loft offers seating for four, with a futon sofa that can be turned into a bed. Enjoy the lake view from the two bedrooms and full bathroom on the upper level. One bedroom has two sets of twin bunk beds and a television. The other bedroom is quite spacious with a queen-sized bed and a television.

Walk in front of the home and around to the other side of the deck to descend the stairs and you will reach the lower covered patio area. This space is equipped with an outdoor shower, two-person swing, large hot tub, hammock, seating for 4, and a ping pong table. There is also an additional uncovered patio area with a built-in charcoal grill.

This home is unique in that it has a fabulous flat grassy yard in a gorgeous setting day and night. The night sky offers a breathtaking view of the stars. Down by the lake there is a canoe, three kayaks, a water slide that will take you directly into the lake, a ladder to climb in or out of the lake, and very nice wooden bench seating for 6-7 people. The yard here is fabulous because even in the winter it is predominantly grassy. The young or the young at heart will love playing in the yard here. Back to the deck at this home, there is a bench swing, a sturdy rustic picnic table, and additional seating for 5. It's very nice with plenty of places to gather with friends and family or find solace on your own.

When the community was gated after hours we were easily able to get in touch with someone and be let in. Quick solution to a predicament. :) The house was very clean, instructions before answered many of the usual questions, easy to arrive/depart.

The house and location was perfect for a couple families or group of friends. The added bones of boats and floats to use during our stay was great.

Overall very good service but could have been better organized. Information on website not 100% and some important information missing such as access to development. Binder at home with instructions is very useful as we have seen on other properties that we have rented.

Excellent home to rent for a week in the Carolina Mountains. Would love to come back to it. Excellent home. Needs new pans, as current pretty beat up. Internet access would have been useful as could have booked longer and taken care of work related issues. (Was nice though to have limited access for the kids).

I didnt speak directly with any staff member. We booked online and got instructions via text. Everything went so smoothly that I didnt need to speak with anyone. The check in/out process was very easy. Our rental was clean and well stocked with necessities and extras to make our vacation great!

It was a blast! So much to explore in the area, the only negative was that our time ended too quickly! We werent ready to leave and cant wait to come back! The view itself was excellent. The cabin was very clean and welcoming. The location was close enough to lots of activities but also quiet and secluded. We cant wait to come back!!

We didnt really encounter anyone for this trip.

4 Lucky Ducks was perfect for us. Secluded even though we could see two homes on either side. No one else was on the lake so we felt like we had a private lake. Comfy beds. All that we were wanting for this weekend getaway...hot tub, ping pong, canoe, kayaks, easy lake access, swing, tv. Although no WiFi we did have good reception when needed. NOTE from manager: Thank you for staying with us and letting us know about a few items to address, we will do so immediately :)

Notes

Conveniently Located
4 Lucky Ducks is about 15 minutes from the Lake Lure Beach and Chimney Rock State Park and village. Lake Lure was ranked by National Geographic Magazine as one of the top scenic lakes in the world. There are water sport rental options (kayaks, wake boards, boats, etc.) and pontoon tours of the lake.

The iconic Chimney Rock, for which the village and State Park were named, was featured on Arthur Frommer's Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Budget Travel magazine. The park received the platinum award for Favorite State Park in Blue Ridge Country’s 2013 Best of the Mountains travel poll, with voting every five years and covering seven southern states in the Appalachian Mountains. There are also several excellent golf courses nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.

This beautiful home is centrally located just 20 minutes from Bat Cave; 30 minutes from Hendersonville; 50 minutes from Asheville; and about 1.5 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less an 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.

If you enjoy scenic drives, head out of Lake Lure on Alt 74 (curvy and scenic Memorial Highway) through Chimney Rock Village, Bat Cave, Gerton, Fairview, toward Asheville to pick up what many consider the most beautiful length of road in this country, the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you have not traveled this stretch of road, it is something to add to your bucket list. Actor Norman Reedus of The Boondock Saints and The Walking Dead fame, featured the parkway on a 2016 episode of his AMC TV series Ride with Norman (Appalachia: Blue Ridge Parkway, Season 1 Episode 3). Just 1.25 hours from the home and five miles off the parkway is Maggie Valley, home to the Wheels Through Time transportation museum that features rare American motorcycles, memorabilia, and a distinct array of unique one-off American automobiles.

The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area is conveniently situated for an outdoor adventure including horseback riding, tubing, water sports, and hiking; museums and theater; the Biltmore Estate and Village; shopping and restaurants; and so much more.
