I booked through airbnb so I never really interacted with the team. Great house, great views, easy to book, everything was great! The only thing I would suggest is we couldn't really find instructions on check out. I would have preferred what you guys would have liked us to do. NOTE: From manager - all arrival and departure instructions are included in the email and text message that included the door code. We are sorry you missed it.

Beautiful house! Perfect house for us! A few bugs but to be expected in the forest.

We had an issue with hornets on the deck & Valerie came out with some spray to alleviate the issue until a pest control company could come out. I hated to call on a holiday weekend but one of our guests is allergic. She was very helpful and super cheerful:)

My husband & I were actually visiting the area to check out property and we kept comparing everything to Thistle Ridge because it is exactly what we would like to own some day! Just an amazing property with lots of features for everyone - kayaking, fishing, hot tub, fire pit, peaceful deck and beautiful home!

I did not have to directly work with members of the team. Website easy to navigate. Instructions clear.

Beautiful home. We had a wonderful vacation. Property is quiet. Recommend 4 wheel drive during icy weather. There were several gnats in the home. I suspect that its part of being at a home on the lake though. It didnt ruin our stay though. Would still give the stay 5 stars. We would like to come again. Beautiful home. Home is as described.

Very easy to check in and out, clear directions regarding house expectations and guidelines, home was thoroughly cleaned prior to us checking in, when our propane tank ran out they immediately brought a replacement.

The house is beautiful, inside and out. The pictures online don't do it justice as it's more beautiful in person. The set-up was ideal for us, as we had 2 adults and 6 teenagers; however, it may be a challenge to accommodate more than one couple. I'd like to return with my sister and her family. The "master" on the lower level has a full-sized bed that is too small for 2 adults. Overall, the home was beautiful and very clean. The steps to and from the lake are no joke! But, well worth it! We'll be back. Thank you.

Notes

Conveniently Located
In addition to all that Lake Adger has to offer, Lake Adger House is about 11 miles from the Lake Lure beach and Chimney Rock State Park and village. Lake Lure was ranked by National Geographic Magazine as one of the top scenic lakes in the world. There are water sport rental options (kayaks, wake boards, boats, etc.) and pontoon tours of the lake.

The iconic Chimney Rock, for which the village and State Park were named, was featured on Arthur Frommer's Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Budget Travel magazine. The park received the platinum award for Favorite State Park in Blue Ridge Country’s 2013 Best of the Mountains travel poll, with voting every five years and covering seven southern states in the Appalachian Mountains. There are also several excellent golf courses nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.

This home is centrally located just 30 minutes from Bat Cave; 40 minutes from Hendersonville; 55 minutes from Asheville; and about 1.5 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less an 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.

The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock/Mill Spring area is conveniently situated for outdoor adventure including horseback riding, tubing, water sports, and hiking; museums and theater; the Biltmore Estate and Village; shopping and restaurants; and so much more.
