Honey Bee Hill is the perfect log cabin for a peaceful family retreat in the mountains. Sit by the outdoor gas-log fireplace and enjoy the serene lake view on the beautifully furnished wrap around porch. Or take the kayaks (included) out on the lake for a calming day on the private community’s 12-acre mirror lake. End the day grilling out on the top-of-the-line CharBroil grill and watch the sky’s colors change as the sun dips over the horizon.

This two-and-a-half story cozy cabin boasts three bedrooms and three full baths to accommodate six adults. On the main level you’ll find the dining room with a beautiful wood table which seats six, the living room with electric leather recliner and sofa, a stonework gas-log fireplace, the kitchen with everything you’ll need, a bedroom with a queen bed, and a full bathroom with a tub for the kiddos.

From the living room, take the stairs to the upper level where the loft serves as an elegant workspace with some of the best large loft windows we have seen. The loft is perfect for a person to get some work done while another reads a book or catches a nap in the oversized chair. The master bedroom, with a king-sized bed and it’s own full bathroom, are located just at the top of the stairs as well.

In the lower level, you'll find the home’s second living room, a television, an extensive book collection for your reading pleasure, and ample room for the kids. Also downstairs is the third bedroom with another queen bed and full bathroom. The laundry facilities are also located on this level. Through the two sliding glass doors are a spacious patio, a bench swing, and a much sought after, but rarely found, level and grassy area which is perfect for mingling, cartwheels or yard games. Feel free to bring your own game of corn hole or bocce.

Honey Bee Hill is a beautiful log home located in a private, quiet community just east of Lake Lure. It is easily accessible and only 9.5 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 11.5 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 18.2 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC), home of the 2018 World Equestrian Games (WEG). A little less than an hour’s drive to Asheville’s downtown – where art, music, and some of the U.S. best craft breweries await!

Beautiful Year Round
This mountain home is perfect for every season! Enjoy the beautiful snowy winter weather where a cozy cabin feels just right. Enjoy life on the water either on the community’s private lake or everything Lake Lure has to offer during the spring and summer. In the fall, sit by the fire on the porch and take in the dazzling colors of the leaves changing.

Prompt, courteous, welcoming, kind and very professional team!
It was absolutely amazing. My family and I will always cherish our memories here and we look forward to returning! Honey Bee Hill is a vacation rental we won 2 nights in through Carolina Properties. The price was such a great deal I chose to pay for 2 additional days. It's a beautiful 3 story cabin; wrap around porch with rocking chairs, a 6 seat dinning table; outdoor fireplace but the table on the porch; BBQ and utensils; stunning view of the lake and mountains; dock and gazebo right down the hill across the street; clean clean clean home with all the advertised amenities plus more; great location; you even have the option to rent a pontoon boat and have it brought up to your rental, if on or near the lake; 2 kayaks and a raft to use; floaties, football, kickballs and other outdoor/water toys; beach chairs and umbrella. It's very romantic but also a perfect family getaway for any season. Highly recommend!!! I would definitely would plan on returning in the summer too.

Your team was always there at the ready to help. I mentioned above that we had to reschedule our original stay. Not only did the team happily do so, they even suggested a better arrangement for our stay at the same property. I am very pleased and feel this organization is more interested in making their clients happy than making a quick buck.
Oh my goodness! What a gorgeous property! Plenty of space, with comfortable beds and fresh smelling linen. With a bedroom and living space on each of the three levels, our family of 4 adults and two children were able to spread out, and then come together when we choose. Puzzle making on the top floor loft, big table for game playing on the main floor, tv watching on the lower level. We loved every minute and we will be back! There is so much to do and see only a stone throw away. And the sunsets were AMAZING from the huge picture window in the upper level.Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful space!

We had a wonderful experience.
My only suggestion would be to put larger vents in by the dining room table. The one there moves off the vent and is a hazard while on that side of the table. We really enjoyed our stay there and look forward to visiting again! This is a beautiful home and well taken care of. Will rent it again

N/a never spoke with anyone. Easy website, check in and check out. No issues.
Was a great time! We didnt have any toilet paper - had to go buy some. A half roll was on the wall in all 3 baths and that was all. The house does have gnats - night want to spray. Think they are coming from kitchen drain. Need dishrag in kitchen for washing dishes. House is wonderful though. Had a perfect stay! Great property! Had great stock in kitchen cookware! Very comfortable.

Conveniently Located
Honey Bee Hill is about 15 minutes from the Lake Lure beach and Chimney Rock Village and State Park. Lake Lure was ranked by National Geographic Magazine as one of the top scenic lakes in the world. There are water sport rental options (kayaks, wake boards, boats, etc.) and pontoon tours of the lake.

The iconic Chimney Rock, for which the area and State Park were named, was featured on Arthur Frommer's Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Budget Travel magazine. The park received the platinum award for Favorite State Park in Blue Ridge Country’s 2013 Best of the Mountains travel poll, with voting every five years and covering seven southern states in the Appalachian Mountains. There are also several excellent golf courses nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.

If you enjoy scenic drives, head out of Lake Lure on Alt-US 74 (Memorial Highway). This stretch of road has 14 hairpin turns and runs through the Hickory Nut Gorge communities of Chimney Rock Village, Bat Cave, and Gerton. Continue toward Asheville to pick up what many consider the most beautiful length of road in this country, the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you have not traveled any this of road, it is something to add to your bucket list.

This beautiful home is centrally located just 20 minutes from Bat Cave; 45 minutes from Hendersonville; 55 minutes from Asheville; and about 2 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less an 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.

The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area is conveniently situated for outdoor adventure including horseback riding, tubing, water sports, and hiking; museums and theater; the Biltmore Estate and Village; shopping and restaurants; and so much more.
