I only emailed the staff once to ask about a tree and they responded timely. We had a great time at the property and had no issues getting into the house or while we were there.
We enjoyed the stay and will most likely be coming back in the future. The game room was the selling point for us because it brings the entire family together downstairs keeping everyone entertained and leaving nobody out. We also loved the kitchen being fully stocked. That was so helpful during our stay. This property was perfect with all the game room stuff down stairs. The only issue we had with the property is that the room with the queen bed is a loft without a door which we did not know. I am not sure if it was mentioned in the original ad which is why it doesn't affect our rating.

We had a few issues when we got there. Management sent someone out that night to fix (tv not working and front doorknob very loose). Dathan was very polite and very knowledgeable in what to do to fix everything.
We loved our stay at Riders Rest. Our family was looking for a place to stay to just get away from home for a while. This property had everything we needed to feel at home and entertained without needing to be around a lot of strangers during the pandemic. Only thing I wanted to mention is the sensor on the front gate did not pick up my small car (Jeep Renegade) when we tried to exit. We had to follow my husbands larger car out of the neighborhood in order for the gate to open. Thank you for everything!

The instruction, communication and support were almost perfect.
Everything was great except lack of any sound isolation between floors and pretty slow internet.

From the booking that Valerie was so helpful to get us what we was looking for to the nice gentleman that came out promptly to remove trash (outside) from the last renters everyone was friendly and easy to work with.
Pure Bliss, we all had our own space and the kitchen was stocked fantastically as were the towels, beds were cozy too. Can't wait to return. The Christmas tree was a bonus for the basement as we loved the ambience of the lights. This home was secluded and very relaxing, but yet still close enough to the grocery store and town that there wasn't a lot of drive time and plenty of time to enjoy the amenities the home had to offer. The basement of this home made my kids feel like they had their own little escape.

The guest that may like WiFi would be very disappointed in what the WiFi was capable of doing. NOTE - From property manager. WI-FI is difficult in our area, at this home it is intended for checking email and things to do but will not support streaming.

Valerie was very friendly, helpful, prompt and knowledgeable. The house was very clean and well stocked, so kudos to the housekeeping staff, too!
Since it rained the majority of our time there, we truly enjoyed cooking on the gas grill and the GAME ROOM was amazing! The beds were very comfortable, the cabin was super clean, lots of linens and a very well stocked kitchen. Not on the lake, but we knew that before making the reservation. Kudos to the owners who furnished their cabin like they want to use it. Excellent experience! Thank you.

Great customer service.
Great Stay! Would highly recommend this property to any family who wants to get away for some relaxation. I stayed here during the holiday season and then returned during the summer. Our kids loved the game room downstairs! Very comfortable beds, clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed a lot of activities around the area. Hiking at Chimney Rock and paddle boarding on Lake Lure. Then we enjoyed getting back to the quiet of the cabin. Nice wooded area for the kids to hike and explore around the cabin. It's gated and felt very safe.

Conveniently Located

In addition to all that Riders Rest has to offer, this cabin is about 12 miles from Tryon International Equestrian Center 9.5 miles from the Lake Lure beach and Chimney Rock State Park and Village. Lake Lure was ranked by National Geographic as one of the top scenic lakes in the world. There are water sport rental options (kayaks, wake boards, boats, etc.) and pontoon tours of the lake.

The iconic Chimney Rock, for which the village and State Park were named, was featured on Arthur Frommer's Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Budget Travel magazine. The park received the platinum award for Favorite State Park in Blue Ridge Country’s 2013 Best of the Mountains travel poll, with voting every five years and covering seven southern states in the Appalachian Mountains. There are also several excellent golf courses nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.

This home is centrally located just 30 minutes from Bat Cave; 40 minutes from Hendersonville; 55 minutes from Asheville; and about 1.5 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less an 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.

The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area is conveniently situated for outdoor adventure including horseback riding, tubing, water sports, and hiking; museums and theater; the Biltmore Estate, Winery, and Village; shopping and restaurants; and so much more. See our Local Area Guide for additional information.
