The modest exterior of this single-level Lake Lure lakefront home surprises with a large, well-appointed interior. You would likely never guess it was a 3 bedroom/2 bath home. It is ideal for a romantic getaway or just a quiet, peaceful escape with friends and family (sorry, no four-legged guests). This home is 2.8 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 4.1 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 16.4 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).
Upon entering there is the dining room with seating for 4 (plus 4 stools at the kitchen bar area) and a lovely sitting area. Just beyond is the living area complete with additional seating, gas fireplace, and flat-screen TV (basic channels). Internet is also available. What the U-shaped kitchen lacks in size, it makes up for in the cabinet storage space while still offering the necessary full-size appliances (refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and microwave).
The king bed suite has doors that open onto the lakeside deck, providing comfort and a perfect way to awake in the morning. There is also a cozy club chair in the room and adjoining full bathroom.
There are 2 additional bedrooms with queen beds, a full bathroom and a laundry closet in the hallway. This home offers comfortable sleeping for 6. If you want to bring additional guests, the sofa is available or bring (or rent from our office) an inflatable mattress.
The Outdoor Amenities Offer Additional Surprises
The rocking chairs on the covered front porch beckon you to come and relax. There lakeside deck has nice furniture (dining set and rocking chairs) and gas grill. Enjoy your meal on the upper level viewing deck of the boathouse or just take in the splendor of the area.
Inside the boathouse is a 4-seat pedal boat (with canopy) and 2 kayaks for your use. The dock is a great place to sit and dangle your feet in the water or bring your boat for use on the lake (see the boating regulations for additional information).
Lake Lure Beauty Year Round
This home is perfect for every season. In spring the bushes and trees on the shady wooded lot and down the long drive will begin filling with leaves. Summer weather in the area is great most of the time. Autumn brings plenty of visitors to the area for the extraordinary colors. They are even more beautiful when reflected on the lake. With the absence of leaves on the trees in winter, you will see entirely new landscapes.
Plus, the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area and surrounding communities have so much to offer including restaurants, shopping, and fun outdoor adventures you and your loved ones will never forget. See the Amenities and Notes for just a sampling of what is available.

Ladies family get away. Quiet and peaceful! Would definitely work with Carolina Properties again!
Disappointed with the view! Very limited because of undergrowth.

Very easy to work with, everything was online, through email and codes to enter the house, made it super easy and simple.
Lovely home well laid out however the trees have taken over and unable to see very much of the water, though I guess it gives you privacy, depends on which type of renter your are.

no issues - any question I had was answered. The house was as stated and the whole process was seamless.
Property was very nice and a pleasure to stay at. A DVD/Blue ray player would have been nice in the living room and another adult kayak as the two blue kayaks were so small that a full grown man could not use them. As stated above, the house was as stated and was in a great location. The reviews were helpful as they gave a heads up on a steep driveway and lots of stairs down to the lake.

Great and friendly service.
Stiles lake house was clean and comfortable. Steep walk to dock but the dock was a nice place on the water. The only things that I think are negatives were that the walk to the dock was steep and too much for my parents and the metal tie downs are painted to match the dock not silver so two people in our group hit their toes/feet.

Lots of room. Very clean. The lake was beautiful. And the access to the paddle boat and kayak s made this a 10 out 10 for us. We will be back. Only wish there were two adult kayaks. Hint hint. For our next trip!!!

From the website, I thought I'd made the reservation, however, after several days without a confirmation number, I called and found out that we didn't have a reservation. I almost panicked, thinking how disappointed our family would be when they found out (just a few days prior) that we hadn't a reservation. I wish I knew what the ladies name is who helped to get us registered, and in the same place I'd used for the website. She was wonderful....extremely helpful and sympathetic regarding my foul up with the website.
Extremely pleased with everything. Very steep driveway, but otherwise, outstanding for our whole family. Loved the proximity to the water in the cove, restaurants, and grocery stores. The home is very nicely laid out and has two full baths that are very nice and convenient. The porch overlooks the cove and is a joy to use for visiting, reading, and general conversation.

We were very happy with the house we rented and the rental process was very easy.T
he house was perfect for our group. The driveway and stairs to the lake were very steep. Ok for our group but might not be for everyone.
We had a great week. The only tiny complaints were that the kitchen knives were very dull and we really had to search the kitchen to find bowls for preparing food and purchased plastic bowls because all of the china bowls were soup bowls that were not great for small kids. Would have been nice to have the option of renting the pontoon boat but we enjoyed the kayaks.

Beautiful, extremely clean, well kept and spacious home with high ceilings and designer touches. Everything looked brand new. Great location, close to Lake Lure Inn area and Flowering Bridge, restaurants and Chimney Rock Village. In a quiet cove which is great for kids and not too isolated. This city girl felt so comfortable and relaxed there, its like a luxury tree house! Access to kayaks and peddle boat made a great wind down to a busy day of sight seeing. My husband and I are already talking about when to stay there again!

Carolina Properties was easy to work with from scheduling to check in and out!
This property was better than we expected for a rental property. We had 3 couples and the house was perfect! Very clean and well maintained. Plenty of room both inside and out for everyone. We had a great stay and are planning on returning next year. Chimney Rock Park was very close by for hiking trails and we did a tour of Lake Lure by boat. Great weekend getaway! Ease of checking in and out, cleanliness of our rental, communication was easy.
The house was perfect for 3 couples. It was spotless and we loved the view while still being secluded.

We had a very enjoyable time. The location was perfect. We were just close enough to the action without having to deal with all the noise of the boats roaring by. It was very relaxing and peaceful! The house was very nice and I love all the extra amenities.

Another super vacation on Lake Lure, and always very relaxing. The Stiles House looked completely brand new on the inside and was extremely comfortable. The location of the Stiles House was very convenient being between the town of Lake Lure and Ingles. We've always stayed to the right of the fork at Larkins on the Lake, and liked being to the left much better this time.
Only two negatives which are very minor, but the home's water pressure is really low if any two things are using water at the same time. Also, the dark brown painting of the boathouse deck gets too hot to be on without shoes. See, I told you minor!
Awesome home and awesome stay.

I can't say enough good things about the team at Carolina Properties. They are all so friendly and pleasant, and willing to do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. They are always available by phone, even if they aren't in their office, so there is never a problem getting in touch with someone if you have a question or a concern before or during your vacation. I look forward to working with this team as often as possible in the future, and I have recommended them to my family and friends.
We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation at Lake Lure, thanks in large part to the property we rented through Carolina Properties. The house and property were exactly as described and depicted on their website. All the pictures were 100% accurate. Nothing was misleading and there were no unpleasant surprises when we arrived. They let us know everything that would be provided and which items we would need to bring with us. Those details are extremely important to know ahead of time, especially when you're traveling with kids. I have complete confidence in the team at Carolina Properties. It's so reassuring to know that they will be quick to respond if we have any questions or unusual circumstances that we need to address before we leave for our trip, or after we arrive.
Stiles Lake House is lovely, clean, and spacious. The kitchen is a great size, with modern appliances, and plenty of utensils, cookware, and pretty dishes. Our two teenage boys were happy to have their own rooms, each with a TV, and they were very pleased with the wifi. The master bedroom is quite roomy, and has a screened balcony with very attractive, comfortable seating. It's perfect for a relaxing morning with a cup of coffee, enjoying the quiet, natural surroundings. The house has a boathouse and a dock to accomodate a boat, if you want to bring one. We all enjoyed exploring the cove, using the provided peddle boat and kayaks. Our boys also had fun fishing off the dock and looking for turtles. We spent a lot of time in the water, which was cool and refreshing -- a welcome treat for hot summer days!

The management team provided very detailed and timely information. They immediately answered questions and immediately responded when we had a power outage on our first night. They greated us at the car at check in and check out even in the rain! Awesome experience!
We loved our vacation here! The house was very clean and provided everything we needed inside and outside. The management company was very friendly and immediately responded to questions. Beautiful sunroom in the tops of the trees feels like you are in a treehouse. Outside porch overlooks the lake and provides seating and outdoor eating area. Boathouse has sun deck above with umbrellas and eating area and best of all a platform to jump into the lake (my kids could not get enough!). For those not so courageous, there is easy access on the first level to wade into the lake. Great hiking trails nearby and the river, shops, and restaurants in town are also fun. There are a lot of stairs to climb up and down to the lake, but all the houses on Lake Lure are built that way for maximum views. I can't say enough nice things about this rental. We were so sad to leave, but look forward to another stay!

Stiles Lake House overlooks and offers access to Lake Lure, ranked by National Geographic Magazine as one of the top scenic lakes in the world. The Lake Lure beach is just several minutes from the home. There are several excellent golf courses nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.
This lovely home is centrally located, just 10 minutes from Chimney Rock State Park and village. The iconic Chimney Rock (for which the village and park were named) was featured on Arthur Frommer's Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Budget Travel magazine. The park received the platinum award for Favorite State Park in Blue Ridge Country’s 2013 Best of the Mountains travel poll, with voting every five years and covering seven southern states in the Appalachian Mountains.
It is only 15 minutes from Bat Cave; 35 minutes from Hendersonville; 50 minutes from Asheville; and about 2 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less an 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.
The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area is conveniently situated for outdoor adventure including horseback riding, tubing, water sports, and hiking; museums and theater; the Biltmore Estate and Village; shopping and restaurants; and so much more.
