Dream Vacation Home

Whether they stayed for a romantic getaway, honeymoon destination, or family vacation (sorry, no four-legged family members), guests consistently say that Limerick Lodge is a "dream vacation home."

Just imagine . . .
. . .soaking in master bathroom's large corner bathtub.
. . .admiring the beautiful sunset while canoeing on the small lake.
. . .fishing right from the dock.
. . .a gentle breeze while you nap on the deck,
. . .enjoying a game of pool or foosball with you family.
. . .the warmth from the fireplace on a cool autumn evening.

This is just a small sample of what this lovely home has to offer. Limerick Lodge is the perfect mountain vacation home. This home is 9.3 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 10.6 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 18 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).

Room for Everyone

Plus, with over 2000 square feet of living space, there is room for everyone and all of the conveniences of home (plus some). If you visit once, we are confident that you will return again for the fun, hospitality, beauty, and comfort.

Main Level Space

When you walk in the door, you enter the fully equipped kitchen complete with ceramic cook top range, refrigerator with ice maker, coffee maker, microwave, and dishwasher. There is a table with seating for 4.

To the left is a hall, with large storage closet, and entrance to the master bedroom. The private bathroom features a large corner bathtub, shower, and long vanity.

Straight ahead from the kitchen is the living room, complete with gas-log fireplace (with windows on each side), a line of windows overlooking the yard, and doors to the deck. There is also a 50" high-definition LCD television with DirecTV and DVD player (bring your favorite movies to watch).

To the left of the living area is a bathroom with large shower and the second bedroom. Walk up the stairs in the living area to the loft for two twin beds, queen futon, and half bath. This space is great for children to have a space of their own.

Dine in or al fresco! There is a gas grill, ample seating, and beautiful views from the deck. It is a great place to relax with a book, take in the fresh mountain air, or just to sit and take in the beauty of the area.

Lower Level Entertainment

The lower level has so many entertainment options that you will need at least a weekend to enjoy them all! There is a seating area (sleeper sofa) and large flat-screen television with the DirecTV and DVD player. There is a gaming table that seats four. Plus, there is a foosball table, ping pong table and pool table. Large windows let in plenty of light. Also on this level is the washer/dryer and a full bathroom (with bathtub/shower combination).

Outdoor Fun

The yard is large (the lot is 1.79 acres). Walk down to the lake and there is a small sandy area. In the garage is a canoe for use on the lake. Grab some poles and go fishing (a license is required); the lake is stocked every year. Build castles in the sand. There is also a fire pit. Just imagine roasting marshmallows under the stars! There truly is something for everyone at this mountain retreat.

The home is lovely. It's situated on a great lot with a lake & lots of toys for the whole family to enjoy. We would definitely stay at this property again. The only suggestion would be the air conditioning was not efficient cooling the bunk room.

The young Lady that was working with us on the rental is by far second to none. She is a priceless asset to your company.
The overall experience at the property was priceless. There's nothing like waking up in the morning and drinking a cup of coffee and watching the sun come up over the mountains, and the deer and rabbits down by the lake. I believe this property is great for entertaining as well. I would like to take this opportunity to think you for a wonderful vacation. Hope to see you again at some time in the future.

Team members were very prompt on responses via text. Once email was read, responses were immediate also.
This home felt like our own. It was very cozy and functional for a family of 5. We really enjoyed our time here. There were a few suggestions made to help future guests. Management company was responsive and took in ideas graciously.

Conveniently Located

Limerick Lodge is about 15 minutes from the Lake Lure beach and Chimney Rock Village and State Park. Lake Lure was ranked by National Geographic Magazine as one of the top scenic lakes in the world. There are water sport rental options (kayaks, wake boards, boats, etc.) and pontoon tours of the lake.

The iconic Chimney Rock, for which the area and State Park were named, was featured on Arthur Frommer's Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Budget Travel magazine. The park received the platinum award for Favorite State Park in Blue Ridge Country’s 2013 Best of the Mountains travel poll, with voting every five years and covering seven southern states in the Appalachian Mountains. There are also several excellent golf courses nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.

If you enjoy scenic drives, head out of Lake Lure on Alt-US 74 (Memorial Highway). This stretch of road has 14 hairpin turns and runs through the Hickory Nut Gorge communities of Chimney Rock Village, Bat Cave, and Gerton. Continue toward Asheville to pick up what many consider the most beautiful length of road in this country, the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you have not traveled any this of road, it is something to add to your bucket list.

This beautiful home is centrally located just 20 minutes from Bat Cave; 45 minutes from Hendersonville; 55 minutes from Asheville; and about 2 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less an 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.

The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area is conveniently situated for outdoor adventure including horseback riding, tubing, water sports, and hiking; museums and theater; the Biltmore Estate and Village; shopping and restaurants; and so much more. For additional information and activities, just see our Local Area Guide.
