Thanks for all your help. Great experience. Will book a future stay. We really enjoyed our experience and help with setting up our reservation. Especially the later check out!
Fantastic vacation spot. Easily one of the top rental properties I've ever stayed at. Will be back and want to book again. This house is amazing. Everything you could ask for and more. I only gave a 9 based on lack of hot tub and outdoor fire pit, as most houses this size have 1 or both.

They were all great. Only suggestion I would make is to have the floor plans for the house on the website...I had to call to figure out the location of the bedrooms. Everything was great! I had to adjust the reservation and it was easy. House was as advertised.
Perfect place to stay,,,,we were in Lake Lure for a family wedding, House was perfect to entertain for casual brunch and just visiting! Wonderful house! Perfect setting. Extremely well appointed kitchen with things organized.

Nothing not to love about this place....did not want it to end....
Can't wait to come back...The most amazing getaway ever...first time I have ever stayed in a place that I felt like you did not have to rewash the dishes or check for dirty things. Myself and 10 other girls are already wanting it to be time for next year. Unbelievable and so organized..first time ever I had all utensils needed...

Team was very responsive to phone calls and texts when coordinating arrival and contract information.
The home was very clean, well maintained, and also had adequate supply of kitchen equipment for a large group. Beautiful location on a roaring river (really loud - after arrival of Hurricane Irma winds.)

There is no place better in the mountains to stay with a larger group than Mohicans Landing. It is very convenient to everything that is needed or wanted but still secluded and private.

They were very easy to work with from booking our vacation property, to check in and check out. Always friendly and helpful.
Mohican's Landing was incredible! It was beautiful inside and out and so well-maintained. It has probably ruined us for any future hotel stays. We will compare all future stays to Mohican's Landing. We went hiking in Chimney Rock Park, enjoyed a boat tour on Lake Lure, ate delicious meals at Larkins on the Lake, spent a day in Asheville, and ended each day at the beautiful river right on the property. We had a large family group from infants to grandparents and there was room for us all. Perfect location, close to parks and town. Activities for those outdoorsy active types, and also for those who just want to sit in rocking chairs, listen to the river, and gaze at the mountains.

There was a problem with the water main, and the men responded quickly and worked tirelessly to insure that the water pressure was sufficient and that the water coming into each faucet was running cleanly. They assured us that they weren't leaving until the problem was completely fixed. There was a follow up call later to insure that things were still working well.
Not only did it meet, but it exceeded expectations. The property is well stock, well maintained, and beautifully located. The home is lovely. The location is private yet close to all the area attractions.

I had to call because we could not find extra towels and washcloths, then I called because we had to re-set 2 breakers 3 times. I made 3 calls to the office and every time, the person I talked with was very professional and helpful.
The house was perfect for our family. My husband and I slept in the master bedroom and thought it would be nice if the top window had a remotely controlled shade to prevent the morning sun from waking a late-sleeper(me).. A minor complaint for such a wonderful house. Our children and grandchildren enjoyed it immensely and hopefully we will return. Thanks for sharing it!

oh I wish I had written down the name of the wonderful person who greeted us at Carolina properties, such a warm and friendly greeting and reception. She made us feel like we were the VIP's of the day! Thank you so much for starting our weekend out on such a wonderful note. So helpful. We look forward to connecting again.
From the moment we pulled up in front of the Mohicans landing we knew we had found the perfect place for our retreat. Fantastic view, wonderful setting. And then you walk into the property and Wow! The pictures on line come close but until you walk into the the open space of the main floor you just can't fully appreciate how beautiful and fantastic this home is. Every square inch from the upper balcony rooms to the game room in the lower level invights you to stay longer and more often. We were 10 adults in all and all of us relaxed and unwound from the busy lives of each of us and took in the beautiful mountain setting. We all said this was the place to come again and again!

Conveniently Located

Mohican's Landing is about 2 minutes from the Lake Lure beach and Chimney Rock State Park and village. Lake Lure was ranked by National Geographic Magazine as one of the top scenic lakes in the world. There are water sport rental options (kayaks, wake boards, boats, etc.) and pontoon tours of the lake.

The iconic Chimney Rock, for which the village and State Park were named, was featured on Arthur Frommer's Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Budget Travel magazine. The park received the platinum award for Favorite State Park in Blue Ridge Country’s 2013 Best of the Mountains travel poll, with voting every five years and covering seven southern states in the Appalachian Mountains. There are also several excellent golf courses nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.

This beautiful home is centrally located just 5 minutes from Bat Cave; 20 minutes from Hendersonville; 30 minutes from Asheville; and about 1.5 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less an 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.

If you enjoy scenic drives, head out of Lake Lure on Alt 74 (curvy and scenic Memorial Highway) through Chimney Rock Village, Bat Cave, Gerton, Fairview, toward Asheville to pick up what many consider the most beautiful length of road in this country, the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you have not traveled this stretch of road, it is something to add to your bucket list. Actor Norman Reedus of The Boondock Saints and The Walking Dead fame, featured the parkway on a 2016 episode of his AMC TV series Ride with Norman (Appalachia: Blue Ridge Parkway, Season 1 Episode 3). Just 1.25 hours from the home and five miles off the parkway is Maggie Valley, home to the Wheels Through Time transportation museum that features rare American motorcycles, memorabilia, and a distinct array of unique one-off American automobiles.

The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area is conveniently situated for an outdoor adventure including horseback riding, tubing, water sports, and hiking; museums and theater; the Biltmore Estate and Village; shopping and restaurants; and so much more. For additional information and activities, just see our Local Area Guide.
